PAST HIGHLIGHTS
70's
- Started with electric and acoustic bass lessons in Vancouver
- Playing in a rocknroll group and in highschool jazz and concert band
- Summer studies at Courtney School of Music along with Diana Krall and Phil Dwyer
80's
- Scholarship to University of Victoria classical performance as most promising string player
- Summer studies at Banff School of Fine Arts with Dave Holland, Joel Quarington,
and playing in ensembles with John Abercrombie and Lee Konitz - Moved to Montreal and began jazz studies at McGill University with Micheal Donato
- Formed 4th stream with Ken Vandermark, my first real band
- Moved to Vancouver to study Music Therapy at Capilano College
- Played in bands with Henry Boudin, Ron Samworth, Claude Ranger, Rob Frayne, NOW
- Performed with Vancouver Chamber Orchestra and Okanagan Symphony Orchrestra
- Worked as a Music Therapist in psychiatric boarding homes, hospitals and seniors homes
- Joined Calvin Cairns in the Romaniacs for some ethno world touring
90's
- Moved to Victoria more touring with the Romainacs as well as a Russian folk ensemble
- Started Loose Gypsies along with Dan Lapp, Marc Atkinson and James Macrae, which soon became the trio Loose
- Continued to work as a Music Therapist and completed bachelors degree in Music Therapy
- Formed the Bill Hilly Band with Marc Atkinson
- Moved to Germany to join a Cirque de Soliel dinner cabaret as bassist and band leader
- Formed friedsitar with sitarist Edward Powell in Prague
